MAKE – The Prince’s Foundation Workshop (Ages 12+)

Sunday, September 26th 3.00 – 5.00pm

This workshop welcomes complete beginners and those with intermediate sewing ability for an afternoon designing and making a lanyard phone case. You will be taken through the basics of working with a sewing machine and shown the technique of applique. At the end, you will have a great and practical, personalised product to take home. All materials are provided free of charge.

The Prince’s Foundation provides holistic solutions to challenges facing the world today. They champion a sustainable approach to how we live our lives and build our communities. The Prince’s Foundation run a diverse programme of education and training for all ages and backgrounds, and they regenerate and care for places where communities thrive and that visitors enjoy.

Future Textiles is a creative project from the Prince’s Foundation, based at Trinity Buoy Wharf in East London, that brings together specialist knowledge from both industry and education, in order to train the next generation with skills for the textile industry.

To date, over 4000 participants from school and community groups have taken part in sewing, pattern drafting and woven textiles workshops, as well as master classes and specialist training programmes for industry. Our no cost workshops are suitable for school teachers, pupils and those seeking to form a community or gain employability skills.
