Trashion Factory takes clothes from recycling warehouses that would otherwise end up in landfills and remakes them into trashionable wardrobe staples and one-off pieces that are released online. They create products that are made to order and made to measure, specialising in upcycling your “old” loved items into heirlooms.
Alongside bespoke upcycling services, Trashion Factory provide weekly craft workshops for women in the local area to learn new craft and making skills. As a nonprofit community interest company, they strive towards building a resilient fashion community.
For the future Trashion Factory envision a fashion industry that is relocalised, bringing craftsmanship back to East London and working sustainably in all ways. They champion people over profits and are driven towards creating a kind and empathetic workplace.
Fashion District Festival
Trashion Factory will host an interactive workshop designed to teach attendees how to upcycle a scarf into a kimono. A great opportunity to meet fellow crafters and learn more about upcycling, the workshop will be located at The Lab E20.
