The Fashion School was set up in 2012 by Caroline Gration and now has two sites in Chelsea and Brighton. They have been delivering inclusive, sustainable, community-based fashion classes and workshops for nearly 9 years to thousands of children, families and communities. They are anti-fast fashion and their classes and workshops promote a healthy attitude towards fashion and individuality whilst learning life-long skills in sewing, pattern cutting, craft, illustration, customisation, design and ethical fashion awareness.
The Fashion School, in collaboration with dotte, will be running the ‘Kids Refashion Studio’ for families at the Festival. A stall with secondhand kids clothes from sellers with some form of wear and tear. Children will be invited to choose an item, and take it to the School of Fashion workstation. They will be able to upcycle the garment and take home an item completely unique to them.
