Glamcycle Your Jewels During this workshop, Alexa Papavasileiou taught attendees how to upcycle their own statement jewellery piece and get creative in reworking vintage chains, pearls and waste fabrics. Festival-goers could bring along an old piece of jewellery that holds significance, maybe a childhood charm or a relative’s single earring, and give it a glamorous rebirth, the DesignBlender way.
DesignBlender Alexa Papavasileiou trained with Giambattista Valli, Lanvin and Chloe before working as a fashion designer and consulting in textiles and art direction at Erdem and Liberty London. Passionate about sustainability and empowering women, Alexa launched the DesignBlender atelier in spring 2020.
DesignBlender playfully intermixes concepts of new and old with a clear objective: to extend the lifecycle of a product and offer a luxury experience. Every piece is made in London following a design process centred on the use of repurposed, vintage and certified sustainable materials.
RETURE is a digital platform offering both a bespoke upcycling service, enabling clients to connect and collaborate with world-class designers to revive their preloved garments, and an online boutique where shoppers can buy upcycled fashion and accessories from cutting-edge, sustainably driven design talents.
