Makers Space | The Mezzanine (above the Real Greek), Old Spitalfields Market, 6 Horner Square, London E1 6EW

Learn how to knit a bag out of second-hand T-shirts in this inventive, beginner-friendly workshop.

In this hands-on workshop led by fashion designer Geo Knits Slow, part of theĀ Alterist Community, participants will be guided to create their own mini knitted bag using yarn made from second-hand T-shirts. No previous knitting experience is required, and all skill levels are warmly welcomed.

The session begins with a short introduction to the process and a conversation about how garments that are no longer worn can be transformed into yarn. Participants will then spend time cutting and preparing their own T-shirt yarn before moving on to knitting the structure of their bag using a simple pattern designed especially for the workshop.

For this workshop, please bring along two old T-shirts you’d be happy to turn into a bag.
