Embellish Your Basics with Material Response – MAKE

Thursday 5 June
13:50 – 16:00
Makers Space

Transform a simple piece of clothing into a unique, embellished creation.

In this hands-on workshop led by Material Response, participants will learn how to transform a plain, staple piece of clothing into a one-off embellished creation. Through three interactive stations inspired by an overarching design influence, attendees will develop skills in hand sewing, embellishment, embroidery, hardware application and design development. By the end of the session, participants will leave with an upcycled embellished item that feels premium and personal.

Participants are encouraged to bring a piece of clothing they wish to reimagine, along with some snips or scissors.

Material Response
Material Response is all about reacting to societal issues with depth and clarity. All of our pieces are hand made in Bristol from sustainably sourced or up-cycled materials. We delve deep into textile development, using up-cycling as a chance to revive fabrics.
