Our first workshop of the Festival was hosted by Make Town and focused on the relaxing practice of weaving. Attendees were able to play with an amazing selection of colours, fibres and textures; discover the simple, meditative rhythm of weaving; and create a unique woven piece to take home with them.
Make Town is a new textile studio in the heart of Hackney, bringing you engaging events and classes focusing on creating your own clothing, repairing what you already have and a general vibe of community spirit and joy. Make Town has a haberdashery with fabrics and yarn and hosts daily workshops for all in the evenings and weekends. Pop in, say hello and get creative.
